BROWN CONTINUES CAREER
Signs commitment with University of Massachusetts-Lowell

Bridgewater, NJ – The New Jersey Rockets are proud to announce the signing of forward Matthew Brown to the University of Massachusetts – Lowell (Hockey East) for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

Brown will join Rockets Head Coach Sean Cromarty as a player for UMass – Lowell’s Norm Bazin. Cromarty played for Bazin, then an Assistant Coach, at Colorado College and now Brown will be under the same tutelage as he joins the River Hawks.

Brown, who completed his fifth season with the Rockets last season finished the season with 19 goals and 24 assists through 21 games in the USPHL while also garnering the honor of being a season All-Star as well as Player of the Week.

"This was my second-year coaching Matt and I'm yet to find a player as dedicated to wanting to get better. He truthfully loves the game, to play and train and his hard work paid off in a very productive first season in an extremely difficult league to play in," said Cromarty.

Brown, who hails from Wood Ridge, NJ, is ready for the next step of his hockey career to begin. “Everything about UMass-Lowell felt right,” said Brown. “Whether it was the campus, coaching staff or hockey facilities the school felt like a perfect place for me to mature and develop. I am very excited to see what the future holds.”

Brown joins the long line of Rockets to play Division I hockey.
