Rockets Add Jarkowsky to Coaching Staff

Goaltenders to Benefit with Multiple Specialized Coaches

The New Jersey Rockets, members of the USPHL and NJYHL are pleased to announce the hiring of goaltending coaches for the 2017-2018 season.

Terry Jarkowsky, who serves as USA Hockey's Atlantic District Associate Goaltending Development Coordinator, will be joining the Rockets this season as one of two goaltending coaches. His duties include goaltending coaching education, scouting, evaluating, and developing goalies for the Atlantic District. Terry has served as a goaltending coach and as an evaluator since 2012 at USA Hockey's Select 16 Player Development Camp. This summer Terry served as a goalie coach and as an evaluator for USA Hockey's Select 17 Player Development Camp.

Additionally, Terry, a lifelong resident of NJ, is the owner of Master the Crease Goaltending. Jarkowsky played his youth hockey in the Atlantic District before taking his talents to the USHL for the Waterloo Blackhawks. Jarkowsky was the 1993-1994 USHL Goaltender of the Year and played his collegiate hockey at SUNY Potsdam. 

Terry with join first year Rockets PeeWee, Squirt and Mite coach Jerry Dea with the task of developing this season goalies. Dea grew up in New Hampshire playing ice hockey for the White Mountain Avalanche, Laconia Lakers for youth hockey, and the Dover Seawolves in Junior. He began his coaching career at 17 volunteering his time with youth teams. Jerry has spent the last 10 years coaching teams and camps from Mites to U18AA and has served as an assistant coach for Seton Hall Prep Varsity.
